Sijo P. Treacy 8th Degree Founder
SIJO/SI-GUNG PAUL TREACY
Black Belt 8th Degree

It all began with a TV series called 'Kung Fu' and some Martial Arts magazines my brother brought home one day. I found the techniques that were demonstrated fascinating and was hooked from then on.
My first training was in a karate system called ‘Kyokushinkai Karate’ which I started in 1971 at the age of seven. I wanted to become the best Martial Artist I could be, so set about studying various styles and skills from different masters and teachers.
Over the years I have been fortunate to train with some of the top people in the world of Martial Arts, including Karate Masters Kanazawa and Asano from the Shotokan Karate System, Masters Richard Morris and Brian Dossett of Jiu Jitsu and Spirit Combat systems, Master Peter Hui of the Wing Chun System, Master Jeremy Yau and Master Stan Brown of the Lau Gar System to name but a few.
I was honoured with the title of Sifu in 1987 by the founder of Spirit Combat Grand Master Brian Dossett and have been honoured with numerous titles and ranks over the years. In 1994 I was invited to join the WORLD KOBUDO FEDERATION by its founder Grand Master Richard Morris. At that time I was the youngest Master in the federation. I am also one of the most highly ranked Masters in Jiu Jitsu International which is one of the largest associations in the world.
I have taught Martial Arts in different countries around the world including America, Cyprus and Sweden. I have also worked in security for many years, including close protection work as a bodyguard to various celebrities.
Between 1985-86, I opened my first school in North London. The classes became busy very quickly, however; I was not totally content with teaching a traditional style of Chinese boxing mixed with other forms of Kung Fu and Jiu Jitsu. I felt more changes were needed in the syllabus I was teaching and so after just a year, I closed the school down and revaluated my knowledge and what I wanted to get across to the students. I set about creating a street combat system that would be pertinent in a modern society.
In 1987 I reopened the school and my style was born. LOONG KEUN DO FIGHTING SYSTEM or as we like to call it today LKD FIGHTING SYSTEM. Since then, I have been featured in a various Martial Arts magazines over the years and have also appeared on television teaching my style of Martial Arts.
LKD is the system which I teach now, a mixed Martial Art in its purest sense; real, effective, practical and applicable to everyday situations. I teach my system to the general public, security personnel and to other Martial Artists. The ease at which they all grasp and understand the system along with all the benefits they gain from LKD give me great satisfaction as a teacher.
To date, I honourably hold the ranks of Red Belt 8th Degree Master and founder of the LKD Fighting System, Red and White Belt 7th Degree Master of Jiu Jitsu and Red Sash Master rank in Wing Chun as well as other Master ranks and titles in other systems all internationally recognised and approved.
I have always believed a master is a student who must continue to learn and today I am proud to say that I have achieved most of my goals and made many friends along the way. This is a result of my relentless dedication and rigorous training over the past 39 years in the martial arts.
